Framed from a different perspective

In a LinkedIn post in 2017, I once proclaimed the following:

"To be an eminent consultant is to be a trusted advisor to your clients, consistently deliver valued outcomes and to guide and support future generations to be better."

​

On reflection, after taking my first steps into the office of my client, being tasked to create a framework to internationalise their entire organisation and help them serve the entire Moroccan ICT sector is ... THRILLING!

My team and I have been thrown into the deep end where, one of us speaks very broken French (not me), we have to understand all forms of roughly translated documentation from financial reports to media announcements with the assistance of a project assistant / translator and, attend meetings and advice on different issues in addition to our roles here to which I can happily say, the smile from my face has not disappeared. 

​

In the truest form of consulting, we are working to understand, engage and empower our client in a way they they have asked us to. This work will help them to add better value to the sector and thus the country will be able to move forward because of it. 

Knowing the above, I am working as hard as I can knowing that if this is successful, we WILL make a difference!

With the above said, working in a foreign country with new colleagues has its perks:

- To be immersed in a different culture 

- Realise a joy for going for a daily cultural tour (morning jog)

- Understand the world from a different perspective
